Emily Watts
Compliance Specialist
Emily is Arc's Compliance Specialist and supports the Arc team by managing the organization's compliance for USAID, IFC/World Bank, IDB, and privately funded projects. She manages and helps write Arc's project reporting, identifies new business opportunities, and ensures that all of Arc's project inputs are funder compliant.
Prior to working for Arc Finance, Emily interned at Global Goods Partners (GGP), a non-profit that partners with handicraft producers in marginalized regions of the world to provide access to the US market and technical assistance. At GGP, she conducted market research on the handicrafts and fair trade industry and researched pipeline development to attract impact investment for GGPs partners. She also worked in the international development industry at Tetra Tech, a $2.6 billion provider of consulting, engineering, and technical services worldwide. During her tenure at Tetra Tech she was responsible for new business development, recruitment, and proposal management for USAID, MCC, World Bank, IFC, and ADB proposals. Before Tetra Tech, Emily worked on a water-testing project for Ecoclubes, a youth-focused environmental NGO in Argentina. She also evaluated a local water system in Jaitique, Honduras and made management and infrastructure improvement recommendations to the local water board.
Emily earned a BA from University of Vermont in Latin American Studies and Community Development and Applied Economics. Currently, she is working on her master's degree in International Affairs with a concentration in Economic Development and specialization in Management from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). Emily is a board member of the Microfinance Working Group at SIPA.
